The VOXopolis Story

In 2006, Dr. Bob Bernatz first launched the beta version of VOXopolis ("vox" is Latin for voice and "polis" for community). This first iteration of this unique anonymous communication site was the culmulation of 15 years of trial and error in the area of customer and employee feedback tools for multinational corporations.  In his career as a corporate psychologist in Southern California, Dr. Bernatz came to realize the tremendous value of anonymous communication for individuals and organizations in their quest to limit their blind spots and augment their professional success but he also recognized its limitations.

From 1990 to 2006, Dr. Bernatz created and oversaw hundreds of
organizational surveys, customer surveys and 360 degree feedback processes for some of the best known organizations in the world such as ARCO Products Company, British Petroleum, Hollywood Online, Hughes Aircraft, Jeppesen Sanderson, KPMG Peat Marwick, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Sizzler International, Times Mirror Corporation, TRW and the Tribune Company

In his twenty years of consulting, Dr. Bernatz developed an incredible appreciation for anonymous communication tools. Dr. Bernatz also discovered four glaring weakness of these instruments that severely limited their effectiveness. Although extremely valuable to individuals and companies, these processes can be very costly to implement, time consuming to an already over-committed staff and quite taxing on the human energy of any organization. Besides those three key limitations, an additional failing of anonymous feedback tools was the lack of interactivity between the sender and recipient of the anonymous information. The lack of this interactivity made it nearly impossible for the recipient of the information to defend, clarify, or seek additional information about the results of the survey or review.

Because of these four limitations, many anonymous feedback processes were only implemented on, at best, a yearly basis. Obviously, this leaves huge gaps in the individual's or organization's ability to keep tabs on the pulse of their personal or professional effectiveness. Dr. Bernatz determined that an interactive feedback system that was available anywhere and at anytime would vastly improve the effectiveness of any professional or company.  In providing these inexpensive, timely and interactive features through VOXopolis, customers, clients, patients, employees, viewers, vendors, etc. could now give constructive criticism or suggestions that are both timely and interactive.

Since its initial launch in 2006, VOXopolis has expanded its customer base from professional and corporate applications to being an anonymous portal for use in social networks, multimedia outlets, news organizations and average citizens from all communities.
